About the Position:
The Assistant Groomer is a key position working with the Lead Trimmer at Scenthound, offering grooming knowledge and application, facilitating and participating in teamwork across a team of groomers and bathers, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

 Position Skills and Requirements: 
  • At least 1 year of grooming experience or graduation from a grooming school
  • Knowledge of dog breeds, care standards (with emphasis on dog safety) and tools of the trade
  • Leadership, coaching and mentorship
  • Effective communication with team members and others
  • Service-oriented with problem-solving, attention to detail and time management skills; and an ability to self-critique and hold self and others to high grooming standards
  • Basic computer/technology proficiency
  • Strength to lift larger dogs up to 70 pounds; stamina to stand for long time periods
Who We Are Looking For:
We are searching for a confident dog groomer who loves learning and wants to teach their passion to others as they learn! A successful Assistant Groomer is knowledgeable, perceptive, patient, adaptable, detail-oriented, and a compassionate dog lover! We are looking for a motivating, HANDS-ON trimmer who can learn and grow, learning how to assess the needs, strengths and weaknesses of other team members as their experience grows! We want someone who seeks learning opportunities, wants to progress to the position of Lead Trimmer and provide great customer satisfaction!  

 Tasks:
  • Groom to Scenthound standards while providing assistance to the grooming and bathing teams
  • All we do are puppy cuts; one length all-over with a neat face
  • Support an environment conducive to learning, open communication, and teamwork
  • Progress to where you can teach new groomers the Scenthound standards
  • Identify when/where help is needed and provide assistance to keep Scenter on schedule
  • Support a fun and energetic environment conducive to teamwork and Scenthound values
  • Ensure continuous team member and dog safety/wellness 
  • Adhere to Scenthound sanitary and cleaning practices
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Scenter Manager

Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
