About the Role
The Lead Groomer is a hands-on leadership role responsible for grooming to Scenthound standards, mentoring new team members, and maintaining a positive, safe, and efficient work environment. This is an opportunity for an experienced groomer to take on more responsibility, contribute to a growing company, and make a lasting impact.
What You'll Do
- Groom dogs using our puppy cut standard (one length all over, clean face and feet)
- Lead by example with a positive attitude and high grooming standards
- Train and mentor groomers and bathers on best practices and Scenthound techniques
- Foster a culture of teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement
- Support the team by jumping in where needed to stay on schedule
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for dogs and humans alike
- Communicate effectively with pet parents and teammates
- Collaborate with the Scenter Manager on team development and daily operations
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of grooming experience or graduation from grooming school
- Strong understanding of dog breeds, coat types, grooming techniques, and safety practices
- Confident and approachable leader who enjoys coaching and helping others succeed
- Clear communicator who can give and receive feedback constructively
- Physically capable: able to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long periods
- Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation
