We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Groomer to set the standard for grooming quality and safety while mentoring our Bathers and Groomers-in-training. This is a working lead role—you’ll groom dogs while helping the team grow. The right person leads by example, communicates openly, and takes pride in a trusted, stress-free experience for every dog.

Benefits:
Hourly pay regardless of number of dogs serviced: $31-39/hr

What You’ll Do:
- Groom and teach to Scenthound standards—the puppy cut: one length all over with a neat face
- Lead, guide, and mentor Bathers and Groomers-in-training
- Help set the pace and tone for productivity and on-time service in the back of house
- Provide hands-on support to keep grooming flowing during the day
- Promote and follow safety and sanitation standards on every dog
- Help identify areas to improve and put solutions into practice
- Create a positive, communicative team environment
- Take on other tasks as assigned by the Scenter Manager
This Lead Groomer Position Requires:
- At least five years of grooming experience
- Knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and the tools of the trade
- Strength to lift up to 70 pounds and stamina to stand for long periods
- Confidence and empathy handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- A team player who takes initiative and follows through
- Fear-free certification and Dog CPR certified are a plus
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment
Skills and Abilities:
- Clear communication with team members and dog parents
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Solid time management
- Ability to self-critique and hold yourself—and your team—to high grooming standards

Compensation: $31.00 - $39.00 per hour
